The Fort St. John International Air Show Society is pleased to announce the date for the Fort St. John International Air Show will be Sunday July 19th, 2009.
This one day event will feature the best in airplane aerobatics from all over North America. Our feature act will be the Canadian Forces Snowbirds. The Snowbirds are one of 5 teams worldwide that fly a 9 plane aerobatic show. The show will also feature the CF-18 Hornet Demo Team. This supersonic jet can reach speeds of Mach 1.8 and is Canada’s mainline fighter.
For the first time in a number of years the SkyHawks will attend in the Fort St. John International Air Show. The Skyhawks are Canada's premier parachute demonstration team. Established in 1971, the team has performed in more than 3100 shows, delighting more than 65 million spectators around the world.
A number of civilian air craft will also be featured in the show. The 8 time gold medal winner of the World Advanced Aerobatic Championships, Rob Holland will give Fort St. John a show we’ve never seen before.
This year also marks the 100th anniversary of powered flight in Canada so expect even more aircraft and surprises during the show. There are still more acts and ground displays to be announced, visit www.fsjairshow.com for updates on this year’s show.
For the first time since 2001, Fort St. John will host an air show on the weekend. In 2007 over 8,000 people attend an evening show and this year even more are expected to attend.
